Care

CLEANING & BRUSHING • When washing hair extensions, it is always best to let the hair air dry. You can also use a hairdryer on low heat to speed up the drying process; remember to keep the hairdryer about 30 cm away. Never sleep with wet hair. • Brush your hair thoroughly before washing and separate the bonds with your fingers if you have keratin extensions, otherwise they can clump together. • When showering, gently massage in shampoo with downward movements; do not rub. Then rinse thoroughly! Do not shower with hot water; lukewarm is recommended. Use moisturising conditioner while combing your hair. Do not wash your extensions more often than necessary to avoid unnecessary wear and tear. • Use Poze Luxury Hair Care products for cleaning and care; with our products, you can be sure that they do not contain ingredients harmful to your hair extensions and your natural hair. Use a hair mask about twice a month as needed; do not use hair masks, oils, or other greasy products too often. Remember never to apply conditioner or hair masks to the bonds as it will make them greasy and can cause the bonds to loosen or slip. When using extensions, always avoid products that contain non-water-soluble silicones, as these can make the hair very tangled and significantly degrade its quality. Use moisturising products, not emollient ones, as these can make hair extensions tangled. • Brush your hair every day, starting at the ends when brushing. We recommend boar bristle brushes for hair extensions. Use a wide-tooth comb to untangle knots and tangles in the hair before it dries. Preferably brush when the hair is dry. Always hold the hair at the bonds when brushing to avoid pulling and damaging your extensions. STYLING • You can curl and straighten your hair extensions. You can style your hair extensions just like your natural hair, but be extra careful and always use heat protection products that are silicone-free. Avoid straightening or blow-drying your hair extensions too often. The more often you do it, the faster the hair wears out. • Never place curling or flat irons directly on keratin bonds as they can melt; also avoid them on bonds with other hair extension methods. • Do not spray hairspray containing alcohol on your hair extensions, as this can damage the hair. Avoid styling products that contain silicones/alcohol. AVOID • Braiding your hair at night; nothing causes as much wear and tear as sleeping with your hair down, as it twists and rubs during the night. Use a hair tie without metal. Never go to bed with wet hair. Brush it again when you wake up. • Strong sun, heat, swimming in chlorine and salt water can loosen keratin bonds and other extension bonds. The hair experiences extra wear when exposed to such conditions; salt water and chlorine can tangle the hair severely, and blonde hair can become discoloured. Rinse your hair thoroughly with fresh water after such exposure & use a hair mask and leave-in products that protect the hair. Preferably, avoid getting your hair wet when swimming. We are not responsible for hair extensions used in sun or water. • Avoid using greasy products such as hair masks and oils too often; we recommend about twice a month as needed. Emollient products form a film around the strands that can stick together, making the hair tangled. • All toning, colouring, or other chemical treatments on the hair are done at your own risk. We do not recommend such treatments on your hair extensions as they have already been processed. We do not replace hair that has been damaged due to chemical treatments.
